Yellow Pages, Local Area Marketing, Letterbox Distribution
August 16, 2016
Peter Denton and his family have been distributing the Yellow Pages books in the Taree area for a second year in a row. The first time was back in 2015 with the local Taree Scout Group.
Taree Scout Group has been operating for over 60 years. The Group operates with Joey, Cubs, Scouts and Venturers as the mum and dad volunteers. As part of the Group’s fundraising activities the distribution of the Yellow Pages is a great way for the Taree district to raise money for the running of the Scout Group and also helps in the payments for insurance and leader training.
According to Peter, Scout Leader, the exercise of distributing the Yellow Pages definitely was worth the while but it was hard work in comparison to other usual fundraisers that the team participate in including the Sausage Sizzles and Car washes.
“The delivery of the Yellow Pages books was ‘hard yakka,” acknowledged Peter. “It was tiring work, but the effort was well worth it!”
Participating in the distribution of the Yellow Pages may be hard work in the long run, as you have to deliver up and down hills, and into different residential areas, but there IS always a silver lining.
“The best part of delivering the Yellow Pages was seeing our local Scouts and Scouting families working together,” said Peter. Among the hard work, raising funds and working together as a local team there was definitely a sense of personal satisfaction when completing the work. Peter describes his experience as ‘Awesome’.
Peter along with his wife and children delivered over 7600 across the Taree area which was a fantastic effort!
When asked whether they would participate for a third year in a row the answer is exactly what we wanted to hear.
“We would definitely do it again as the opportunity would be too hard to refuse,” noted Peter.
Thanks to the Taree Scouts Group and Peter’s family for participating in the distribution of the Yellow Pages in their local area.
