Daizy was joined by the Dream Creations International crew to document her travels and encounters as she put together a sequel to her acclaimed documentary. Today, nearing completion, Daizy is ecstatic to announce the name of her upcoming film… THE DREAM IS EVERYTHING!
Once the jewel of the Middle East, the playground of the rich and famous, and the envy of the world…Lebanon overcame a bitter Civil War and foreign occupation, but now it is crippled by corruption and its people, paralysed by apathy. Their spirit remains strong, but are they strong enough to overcome the odds stacked against them and reclaim their rights, their future…their DREAMS?
Daizy’s journey highlights the stark contrast of Lebanon living – from the beautiful, colourful carefree living of coastal Beirut, to the sad and squalid existence of refugees living on the Syrian border. She wants to showcase the real story, the real issues, and is compelled to share her findings with the world. Along the way, she has met with many influential members of Lebanese culture and government, plus with hundreds of Lebanese citizens, to discuss the affairs of their country.
With an original music score by Georges Tomb, The Dream Is Everything features interviews with political figures such Prime Minister Saad Hariri, the Lebanese Minister for Foreign Affairs & Emigrants Gebran Bassil, Mr Riad Salameh – Governor of the Central Bank, Minister Mohammad Fneish, Lebanese journalist Nayla Tueni, and actor Georges Khabbaz to name a few.
Daizy has discussed the importance of art and culture to Lebanon’s prosperity with artists Louma Rabah, Ayad Nasser and Victoria Latysheva, and with famous fashion designer Elie Saab, who rose to global success after Halle Berry wore his dress in 2002 when she won her first Academy Award for Best Actress.
The project is very very important, not just for Daizy but for the Lebanese people, as through this film she has made their voices matter. The production of her new documentary is a totally, independently-funded effort. To help support Daizy’s efforts, watch her original documentary Lebanon… Imprisoned Splendour for a small fee.
